Aquatint 14/40, executed at Atelje Ole Larsen, Helsingborg 2009. Numbered and signed by the artist. Framed with oak molding, distance molding and Artglass with reflection reduction and UV filter. About gravure - aquatint. The work with the deep print and the advanced technique in the aquatint is labor intensive and requires a great deal of technical knowledge, depending on how many colors you want to use for the finished print. The color is taken from indentations in the copper plate - also called copper print. The plate is stained with roller or dab - a leather cushion and the color is wiped away on the high portions. This leaves the color in the recesses. When printing in a copper printing press, the moistened potting paper drags up the color under very high pressure. Gravity is characterized in that the outer outline of the plate appears with a relief mark in the paper. |
