TOGETHER

In Together, two people are brought so close that their faces almost merge. And yet, their eyes never meet. They share the same pictorial space, but their gazes are directed in different directions.

This tension between closeness and individuality is central to Vilmantas’ art. With subtle means, he explores human relationships, allowing gazes, gestures and physical distances to unfold the narrative.

The title Together does not define the nature of the relationship. Rather, it describes a state of being: to be connected to another person without necessarily seeing the world in the same way.

Perhaps this is where the essence of the work lies: Being together does not mean becoming one, but remaining two while still belonging together.
